    Thanks johnanddawn, I wanted to try something a little different. I still have a couple of things I would like to move around before I will be happy. :D As for the red ball, it is a red goniopora, or I think the common name would be "flowerpot?" Here is a pic of a closer shot.

    Bad sand......need help

    If it is the kind of sand I am thinking of, and DRTY is referring to, you just need to rinse it realy well. If your tank is not to far along or established just solve the problem now, don't wait for it to go away. I know it is a pain but always worth it.

    critters in my tank!

    Everything you mentioned should be good. Sounds like you are getting some good growth. The little slug like things may be pods? If so, great. The reverse could be flat worms, not so good. Try to get some pics to help identify.

    Getting 29 gallon BIoCubE this weekend!!

    I would agree with Eric, rinsing sand can be a real pain. Not to mention the advantages it brings.
